Flowers and weeds too

Today is just an amazing day outside.  I don't know what it says when I am happy that it is 55 degrees and I can garden.  55 degrees in Cali is darn cold!  But today is lovely, yes lovely.  There is no wind and not a cloud in the sky.  Because it rained for the last few days the ground is perfect for planting.  We planted three new rose bushes because I desperately miss my beautiful roses in Oakdale.  We also planted a cherry tree, a blueberry bush and some wild flower shrubs.  Lastly, we pulled weeds and mowed the lawn.  It was great to be outside and feel the sun beating on my skin.  I think my cheeks are a little pink too.

Tomorrow I am off to Walmart to get more gardening things.  I want to get the kids a humming bird feeder.  I always had one as a kid.  It was so much fun to watch from the living room as the tiny birds would come to feed.  I want the kids to be able to watch the birds and help feed them as well.  Tomorrow is also supposed to be in the 80's maybe we will take a trip to the zoo or the wildlife safari.  We miss the zoo, it's been over 6 months since our last visit.  We will see.

All is quiet

I love my kids, I love my Dad and of course I love Jeff, but I am so glad they are out of the house this week!  There is nothing like having everyone home on a vacation when you are not!  I was up until midnight many nights trying to get homework done and relax from each day so I didn't work while everyone was around.  Not having a spring break at the same time as the kids is the pits.  Well, only one more year of that and we are golden.  Yep, you heard me right, one more year.  I will graduate next May like a big girl!  I just finished registering for summer and fall classes and I couldn't be more excited.  I hope you will all join me for a Cinco de Mayo graduation party next year, we can camp out in the basement.

Back to last week, we had a great time and got to see some new things here in Nebraska.  My Dad is always game for a field trip.  This week we are back to the hectic schedule plus some added meetings.  We have two junior high meetings this week to attend for Ian.  One is for his math class and the other is about the boy and girl movie.  Man where did all that time go?  I know most of you are doing the same thing this year too.  Can't we go back to playing our first year of baseball or soccer....ah, those were the days!
